I was lucky enough to go and check out The Streets at the Manchester Academy this week, which they said was their last ever gig in Manchester. I’ve seen them a couple of times at festivals and although I’ve never bought any of their albums I’ve always enjoyed their live shows. Mike Skinner always gives a great performance and comes out with some great lines, like last night for instance when he finished the show by telling everyone he was off to snort some cheap cocaine, yeah right Mike like you wouldn’t wang some extra dough for the good stuff. He also did his well known ‘get low’ routine where he gets the whole crowd to crouch down on the floor then jump up and break out in a full on skank – always proving to be great fun.
