Tommy Robinson Issues Statement Explaining Gay Dating Ad On Personalised YouTube Page
Unbelievable self-own by Tommy Robinson earlier in the week after he shared a screenshot from YouTube complaining about the gay dating adverts he was being shown… not realising that those ads are targeted and based on the user’s search history and internet activity. Here’s a reminder:
After being ruthlessly mocked for days on end, Tommy decided to delete the Tweet, and has now issued a statement explaining why a gay dating advert showed up on his personalised ads:
So he’s basically saying – he searched for a gay dating app, and that’s why it came up as a targeted ad on his YouTube? Not sure he’s really helped himself with this explanation tbh. His biggest error though was deleting the original Tweet – that’s just made things 100x worse!
Obviously there’s nothing wrong with being gay or looking up gay dating apps, but clearly the last thing Tommy wants is for anyone to think he’s gay.
Unfortunately for him, the comments just keep on coming:
Best thing Tommy can do now is never mention this saga again and hope it blows over with time. As they say, today’s news is tomorrow’s chip paper.
