School Board Member Who Told Student: ‘God, You’re Hot’, Will Remain In Office
A judgment has been reached on the Tennessee school board member who told a high school student she was ‘hot’ in front of her mum and an entire room full of people at a board meeting.
Washington County official Keith Ervin, 59, said to the teenager: “God, you’re hot. Do you know that? Where do you go to school at?”.

No one was seen challenging Washington County official Keith Ervin after he made the comment and put his arm around the girl.

Ervin maintained that he meant nothing by the comment and that he’s simply an “old farm boy” who was “impressed” and “proud” of the girl because she asked intelligent questions at the meeting.
Thousands of people signed a petition calling for Ervin to be removed from the board, but it turns out the committee has decided to censure him instead.
This means that Ervin’s behavior has been formally condemned, but it doesn’t remove him from office.
Ervin has since further defended his comments, explaining that his use of the word “hot” actually meant that the girl was “on a roll.”
He said: “Last week at the board meeting I wanted to congratulate a student who did a great job sharing thoughts with all that was in the room.
“When I mentioned she was hot, I meant she was on a roll, it was nothing to do with her appearance.”

Well, I guess we’re going to have to take his word for it. I suppose it is possible that he was talking about the teenage student’s academic ability and not her appearance when he described her as “hot” and asked where she goes to school. Maybe they could have confiscated his hard-drive and had a gander just to be on the safe side, but apparently they trust this guy to not do or say anything untoward from now on.

Turns out he has previous for ‘lewd behaviour’ in a school setting – making a “w@nking gesture” in front of students. Come on now, can’t an old farm boy have a joke and a laugh?
