We all thought the same thing when reading that headline; Russian model Gretta Vedler, who branded Putin a ‘psychopath’ on social media one year ago, was tracked down by Putin’s henchment, murdered and stuffed inside a suitcase where her body was found 12 months later. Amazingly, the two events do not seem to be connected at all. In the video below by Russia’s Investigative Committee, we see Vedler’s ex-boyfriend Dmitry Korovin, 23, demonstrating to police how he killed the model, and making a full confession:

As reported by the NY Post, Korovin confessed to strangling Vedler to death before driving 300 miles to the Lipetsk region with her body in the boot of a car. Korovin told authorities he slept in a hotel room for three nights with her dead body, which was stuffed in a newly bought suitcase. He then left her body in the boot for a year but kept posting on her social media pages to make it look like she was still alive.

Here’s what Vedler had written about Putin on social media a year ago, sparking rumours that he ordered her execution:

I can only assume, in my opinion, clear psychopathy or sociopathy is seen in him. For psychopaths, it is important to constantly experience a sense of fullness and sharpness of life, so they love risk, intense experiences, intense communication, intense activity – an intense and dynamic life.

I guess if Putin was to go after everyone who had ever called him a psychopath (even respectfully as Vedler appears to have done), he would have a full-time job. Although you’d have to be extra bold to post something like that as a Russian citizen. Looks like the poor girl was dealing with her very own psychopath in her private life, and the lunatic not only killed her but managed to make out to her friends and family that she was still alive for a whole year afterwards.

There are of course rumours floating about that the boyfriend was forced to confess to a crime he had nothing to do with, but I think that’s a little far-fetched, even if not out of the realm of possibility for someone like Putin. Then again, would he even bother trying to cover it up? Probably not. RIP Gretta.
