We’ve been big fans of Boomtown Festival here at Sick Chirpse for over a decade now and we’ve been looking forward to the 15th anniversary for some time now –  but now even more so after it was announced that The Prodigy would be headlining the Sunday night of the festival.

In the past couple of years the Boomtown lineup has been kept a secret until the week of the festival to reflect that it’s more about the vibe and craziness of the place rather than seeing your favourite bands, but I think when you secure an artist as special as The Prodigy then the rules can go out of the window. The band will play August 13th on the Grand Central stage and are sure to blow your faces off with their incredible sound system and beats, even if the great Keith Flint will no longer be skanking around on stage, looking like he’s pilled off his face after his untimely passing a few years ago.

Boomtown have apparently been in negotiations with The Prodigy for over ten years trying to get them to play the festival and it’s finally worked out this year for their 15th anniversary. If you haven’t picked up your tickets yet then you can do so here, and if you don’t know what the fuss is all about then check out our reviews of previous festivals here. Really is the best of the best.
