The Naked Gun is one of the best comedy franchises ever and so it’s understandable that fans of the original are tentative about the incoming reboot. The casting does seem promising, though – with Liam Neeson taking on the role of Lieutenant Frank Debin, and Pamela Anderson now revealed to be starring alongside him.
It’s actually a stroke of genius on behalf of Paramount, Seth MacFarlane and Akiva Schaffer. Pamela Anderson knows how to play a comedy love interest who perfectly balances the line between sexy and funny, as she’s done it many times in her long and distinguished career.
At 56, she’s also the perfect age to play the love interest of Liam Neeson, 72, in particular. Any younger and Neeson could be borderline perving on someone who is young enough to be his daughter.

Of course, it’s going to very hard to beat the chemistry that existed between Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley in the original movies:
Call me crazy, but I actually think this Naked Gun reboot starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson will be worth watching, which isn’t something you can say often about Hollywood remakes.
Hopefully they keep true to what made the original movies so funny – the clever word play, the clever visual gags, and the actors playing it seriously which made it all the more hilarious. Don’t do that modern Hollywood parody thing of including a bunch of annoying pop culture references and wacky “jokes” that aren’t even really jokes.
One thing I’m sure we can bank on is that there will be a gag in there about how Liam Neeson is such a similar-sounding name to Leslie Nielsen. Plus plenty of the callbacks to the original, I’m sure. We’ve got high hopes for this one!
