I think it’s well documented that drugs like heroin and cocaine might make you feel really good but will ultimately ruin your life and leave you penniless if not dead, but it’s been a while since we’ve heard of a new one that’s deadlier than what’s come before.

This new one is called ‘Shark’ or ‘Tiburon’ over in Honduras. It’s apparently a chemically altered strain of wed that’s highly addictive and make the MS13 gang that has control of its production millions of dollars every year.

Nobody knows what the mystery drug contains, but VICE sent a documentary team over to Honduras to find out what it’s all about:

Wow,  that’s great documentary isn’t it? Sure it isn’t as exciting in the second half after all the police raids and what have you at the start, but it’s still fantastically made and gives you a real sense of street grittiness thanks to the editing and camerawork. Very impressed.

It does kind of seem like it drops in a few plot threads that really deserve more exploration though? Like the fact that the President is a convicted drug dealer right at the end and that everyone is living under the oppression of the gangs in the country. I feel like there are a lot more stories that need to be told over in Honduras. Hopefully VICE will be able to get them out.

For more of the same, check out this drug dealing that a monkey in a bulletproof vest that was killed in a recent cartel shootout. RIP.
