I nearly called this the Citizen Kane of tasteless video games but that’s a bit unfair as it implies that Rapelay somehow has some sort of artistic merit. There is no merit here. How could there be? It’s only a fucking rape simulator.
RapeLay is a staggerringly horrible example of something called an “eroge” game, a sub-genre originally created in Japan with adults-only erotic imagery.
Most eroge games have their fair share of relentless nudity and shagging, only it’s between consenting parties so that’s okay. In the case of RapeLay, you play a man lurking in underground train stations praying on vulnerable women whom he then gropes and eventually violates.
To add to the Jesus-Fucking-Christ-This-Is-Awful factor even further, the female characters in the game are a mother and her two daughters. The game ends with all three of them as slaves in the protagonist’s sex dungeon, with their bodies and sanity in absolute ruins.
Lovely.
Even writing about this game is making me feel so wretched that I want to take a shower now.
