Mental story out of Fairfield, California, has produced two terrifying viral videos – one of a man violently banging and kicking on a stranger’s front door demanding to see their daughter, and another of him breaking into the house and being confronted by the homeowner.
🚨 TERRIFYING! Moment caught on a Ring camera shows a deranged man in a long coat crashing out asking “where is your daughter?” And threatened the man on the cam that he “will end him” if he doesn’t open the door

He was roleplaying as “Harry Dresden”, a fictional detective, and broke in while wearing flip flops, a trench coat, and a Demon Slayer shirt…

The resident was seen threatening to hit the intruder with a shovel.
The intruder has been identified as Jason Thomas Nichols,… pic.twitter.com/gPz8ZDuV0M
Despite claiming to be Harry Dresden – a wizard detective character from the book series The Dresden File – the man was later identified as 30-year-old Jason Thomas Nichols.
As you can see in the second flip, the homeowner, who had been monitoring the situation via the camera while away, rushed home and confronted Nichols inside with a shovel. Things got physical, but he was eventually able to convince Nichols to step outside the property before police arrived and arrested him.
Nichols now faces four felony charges, including: burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and vandalism.
Bail was set at $35,000, which seems pretty low for a man who is violently out of his mind and will break into someone’s home unprovoked because the thinks he’s Harry Dresden and needs to save a kidnapped girl trapped in the house. I mean, that is some next level extreme roleplaying right there.
Clearly we’re dealing with a man who has severe mental health issues; is it really safe to have him anywhere but in custody while he awaits trial?
In any case, big up to the homeowner for the way he handled it. He was probably well within his rights to beat the sh1t out of the guy or worse, but he managed to deal with the situation in a relatively non-violent way. Respect.
