Man Who Cried “I’m Going To Miss GTA 6” After Being Arrested For Murder Has His Jail Term Extended
Bad news for the Oxford man who murdered his ex-girlfriend and then cried that he’s going to miss GTA 6 when being arrested – it looks like he could miss GTA 7 and 8 as well.
Here’s the moment Robert Richens, 35, from Oxford, was arrested earlier this year (GTA line at around 0:55):
‘GTA KILLER’ TO SPEND LONGER BEHIND BARS AS APPEAL COURT INCREASES JAIL TERM

The killer who made headlines after crying to police that he would “miss the release of GTA” when he was arrested will now spend even longer behind bars.

After originally being sentenced to 16 years, Richens has now had his sentence increased by the Court of Appeal after judges ruled that was too lenient.
He will now serve a minimum term of 19 years and six months, which still seems a little lenient, to be honest. After all, he inflicted 64 blunt force injuries on ex-partner Rachael Vaughan, 40, during the murder at her home. What are the mitigating circumstances that land him less than 30 years?
Either way, gotta love the “You’ve got ages for that” reply from that officer. Bit of banter keeps us all human eh? Besides I’m pretty sure you can get a PS5 in your cell these days if you play your cards right. Yeah OK he may not get to play Online mode but beggars can’t be choosers eh?
GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Not too long to go now.
