It’s not often that someone is forced to issue an apology for saying something completely wrong and inaccurate on Twitter that causes a bunch of trouble for the people involved, but Katie Hopkins of all people has been forced to issue one and you can tell that she hated every moment of it.

Katie shared a video on Twitter back in May that she claimed was of five men attacking police outside Finsbury Park Mosque, although it has now turned out that this wasn’t happening outside the mosque but instead two streets away on Blackstock Road and had nothing to do with the mosque as she had originally insinuated. I presume that the mosque threatened to sue her or something which is why she has posted this grovelling apology on Instagram (she was banned from Twitter permanently for breaking abuse and hate speech rules in May so can’t hit up her followers that way anymore):
Wow. Definitely isn’t too often you see someone like Katie Hopkins say something like that and you can tell that it was only made under major duress and through extremely gritted teeth. Long may it continue, although I imagine that she’s already planning her revenge in some way, shape or form.
