Jordan Henderson may have taken a knee prior to kick-off at the Emirates yesterday, but he’s now under investigation by the FA for potentially racist comments he made toward Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Here’s the moment it all went down – get a load of Gabriel’s incensed reaction and the way Granit Xhana snaps his head toward Henderson when Gabriel tells him what he said:

People are also suggesting this photo of Henderson’s teammate Roberto Firmino looking at him with deep disappointment indicates he said something completely out of order:

I’m not sure the way Firmino is looking at Henderson is indicative of anything, but there’s definitely something to the drama considering the ref went running over to Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta immediately following the incident and spoke to them about it.

Klopp refused to talk about it in his post-game interview and in any case, the issue has been referred to the FA so if we do hear anything more about it, it will come from them. Very poor form from Henderson if it turns out he did racially abuse Gabriel, considering he’s Liverpool’s captain and his involvement with the England national team. What would the repercussions be if it turns out he’s a racist? Banned from the Premier League? Dropped by Liverpool? Dropped by England? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
