Another day, another story of Joey Barton making friends all over the internet – this time after calling out a 17-year-old girl named Ava Easdon, who made a mistake between the sticks for Partick Thistle Women by conceding this goal during a 4-1 defeat to Rangers Women in the SWPL final; the biggest game in her life:

The clip in question:

As the game was shown live on Sky Sports, the footage naturally went viral and everyone was taking the p*ss, which is par for the course these days. Still, the teenager probably could’ve done without Joey Barton, a man with 2.8 million Twitter follows, sharing and commenting on the clip.

One person who definitely wasn’t happy with Joey Barton ‘bullying’ his daughter was Ava Easdon’s dad Lex Easdon, who just so happens to be a seven-time world kickboxing champion. Lex posted the following on social media calling Barton out:

Joey doesn’t seem to have responded directly to Lex’s statement, but he has been doubling down on his position:

Well, whether you agree with Joey Barton or not that this level of women’s football should not be on paid TV, it does seem a bit harsh to amplify this 17-year-old girl’s mistake to literally millions of people on his Twitter account. Then again, I suppose that’s part of playing professional football that’s being televised live on Sky Sports.

Just in case you think Joey Barton makes all his arguments in good faith though, here’s his reaction to the tragic events in Baltimore this morning…

Classic Joey Barton…

P.S. Still waiting on Joey’s response to the $10,000 offer he received to score 100 out of 100 penalties against Mary Earps. You’d think he would be all over that, given the comments he’s made about her.
