Jeremy Clarkson Says Former Dismissal Of Global Warming Was A ‘Joke’

Jeremy Clarkson has always been an elite level troll, and so maybe it’s not too surprising to see him insist that his former dismissal of climate change and global warming was just a “joke”  and “part of his comedy creation.”

Clarkson says his climate change denialism was all an act to bring publicity to Top Gear and The Grand Tour, and that he’s definitely not just saying that now because of all the pushback he got over it.

Clarkson told The Guardian:

“That was part of the caricature. It was a joke.

“Now you think, ‘My neighbours over there, they’ve had to replant everything because it’s all drowned.’ I can’t believe it’s not dominating the news agenda.”

In fact, if you ever thought his global warning dismissal was anything other than an act, you’re an idiot who can’t tell Hollywood fiction from reality:

“It was a comic creation. Everyone assumes the character they see on motoring shows is me, but it’s exaggerated. To think that I was like I was on Top Gear is the same as thinking that Anthony Hopkins is a cannibal.”

Right, so Jeremy Clarkson believed in climate change the entire time but instead of taking any action to highlight it or even remaining neutral, he instead decided to act against it for a joke? Lol. Seems unlikely, but I guess anything’s possible when it comes to Jeremy Clarkson and the way his brain works.

Jeremy Clarkson walks back previous climate change dismissal as 'a joke'

Previously, Jeremy Clarkson had made no secret of his hatred for Greta Thunberg, blaming her for “killing” the car show, saying that she deserves a “smacked bottom” and should “shut up and be a good girl.”

Although I suppose you could believe in global warming and also have that attitude, given how objectively annoying and hysterical she is about the whole thing.

Makes you wonder though – was punching a Top Gear producer also part of Clarkson’s comedic act? How about the time he told a dyslexic lawyer he should ‘learn how to spell’? Never change, Jeremy.
