Elon Musk and Grimes have had one of the stupidest celebrity relationships in recent memory as everything they said and did seemed to be designed to be as cringeworthy as possible – and they’re still managing to do it even though they’re no longer together.

The news was revealed by journalist Devin Gordon, who interviewed Grimes in her home earlier this year and is also appearing on the BBC’s new venture ‘The Elon Musk Show’. Here’s what he had to say about the relationship between Grimes and Elon Musk:

She [Grimes] told me repeatedly that Musk has this theory of her that she’s not real.

That she’s a simulation who was created by him and exists in his cerebral cortex as sort of the perfect companion to him.

Which sounds a little crazy and maybe even a little creepy, except, she agrees with it.

She said she does feel like this simulation that was perfectly created for him.

Her interests are all the same as his and her music is very technologically oriented.

They both made a similar nerdy joke about a scary AI theory of the future.

So cringe. Grimes herself has actually backed this up in a previous interview that is somehow even more whack than what Gordon came out with, saying the following:

We keep having this conversation where E’s like, ‘Are you real? Or are we living in my memory, and you’re like a synthesised companion that was created to be my companion here?

The degree to which I feel engineered to have been this, like, perfect companion is crazy.

Jesus Christ what a pair of try hards hey? I thought this might be the end of all this embarrassing baby talk between the two of them that was somehow played out within any interview they were conducting or via their Twitter accounts, but apparently we’re still getting more of it. Lucky us.

The only problem with this little theory of Grimes and E though (love that nickname for Musk) is that the pair literally split up a couple of months after they made it public, so I guess there must have been a glitch in The Matrix or something. Hopefully they can get Neo or someone to help them out and get it back on track.
