Sometimes – loathe I am to admit – there’s just nothing like a Greggs chicken pasty to get you up and going. There’s just something about it.

Unfortunately though, it can be kind of hard to get access to a Greggs if you’re nowhere near a city centre/high street, so I’m sure that everyone will be relieved that following the success of their delivery service, they’ve decided to also open up a drive-thru option. Fantastic.

Greggs Drive Thru

The first drive-thru Greggs has opened its windows in Irlam Gateway Service Station in Salford, Greater Manchester. It’s open from 6am, so is pretty much perfect for everyone on their commute to work in the big city. Or the suburbs – wherever you’re going. If it’s successful, the company plan to open more nationwide. Alright.

Roger Whiteside, Chief Executive for Greggs, said the following:

GreggsDrive Thru 1

When it comes to food on-the- go, our customers tell us that convenience is key. We’ve been working hard to take Greggs to where our customers need and want us to be including office parks, industrial estates, retail parks and travel hubs.

A drive-thru offers the ultimate convenience and seemed the logical next step for us to take. This is a first for Greggs and we are excited to trial the concept in Irlam, Manchester.

Great speech Roger. Now all you probably need to worry about is making sure you don’t crash your car when you’re trying to eat your Greggs when it’s too hot and is dripping all over you. That’s a very real problem with a lot of their offerings.

For more Greggs, check out this seagull fighting a woman for hers. Told you they were delicious.
