Whenever I think of Dizzee Rascal – admittedly not too often – I just think of a fun loving rapper bouncing around the stage, but it turns out that he’s actually a bit of a scumbag as he’s just been found guilty of assaulting his ex girlfriend Cassandra Jones.

The trial has been going on for the last couple of weeks at Wimbledon magistrates court and it was heard that Dizzee – whose real name is Dylan Mills – barged into Jones’ house when he was dropping the two kids that they share together off there. He immediately banged his head three times into the fridge and then put his forehead against Cassandra’s and pushed her around the room, before finally pushing her onto the floor.

She called the police at the time and Jones was arrested at the scene. In a police statement he denied the allegations and accused Jones of causing injuries his arm. That’s a nice defence but it doesn’t look like it’s worked as the magistrates have decided that Jones’ version of events are to be believed.

Not sure what kind of punishment Dizzee be facing for his actions but I guess he could face jail time? To be honest, the term assault sounds way more serious than what has been described here – I thought that he would have full on beat the shit out of her, not just pushed her around a bit – but his behaviour is still obviously unacceptable. Hopefully the punishment will fit the crime.
