If you’ve got seven kids then you probably need to do all you can to save money – especially in the current economic climate – so it might be a real bummer when you go to Tesco but forget your club card so can’t cash in any of those sweet sweet discounts.

Dean Mayhew has the perfect solution for this problem though: get the club card tattooed on his forearm. Dean went to his local tattooist A Star Tattoos in Chessington, south-west London on July 16th and paid £200 to get the QR card inked on him before heading to a nearby Tesco to see if it worked.
Thankfully, he recorded the results in a TikTok for all of us to see:

I’m chuffed, I love it and use it all the time. I use it every morning when I go to Tesco before work.
I used it this morning. It’s one of those things where I get to see peoples faces and make them smile.
One lady giggled and asked me for a photo.
I’ve wanted to do it for ages, about three months I’ve been thinking about it. I just thought it would be funny.
They’re (cashiers) just stunned and look at me and say ‘that’s not real’ and I say it is.
I just thought it is what it is, even if it didn’t work it still looks alright.
Does it look alright though? It’s cool that it does work but I don’t think that anyone would think it was a cool tattoo if it didn’t? Nobody wants a QR code stuck on them that doesn’t work, do they?
Anyway, he didn’t have to face that problem and now won’t ever have to worry about forgetting his Clubcard ever again. He will have to worry about looking like a bit of a dickhead, but he doesn’t seem that bothered about that so it’s all good.
For more of the same, check out these absolutely ridiculous collection of QR codes. They really were wild back in the day.
