As the years go by, we lose more and more talented musicians and rappers, and I guess that just comes with getting older. This is another story of an artist going too soon though, with TMZ reporting that Coolio passed away last night in Los Angeles.

Coolio’s longtime manager, Jarez, says Coolio went to the bathroom at his friend’s house, but when he didn’t come after a while, the friend kept calling for him, and eventually went in and found Coolio laying on the floor.

The friend called an ambulance, which arrived and pronounced Coolio dead on the scene. Parademics suspect he suffered cardiac arrest, though an official cause of death has not been confirmed.

People will obviously remember Coolio most for ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, made famous by the film ‘Dangerous Minds’. Which makes sense because it’s an awesome song:

Coolio’s other tracks seemed to fly under the radar a little bit, but make no mistake – the guy made some bangers in his time, like ‘Fantastic Voyage’:

And ‘1,2,3,4’:

And who could forget the ‘Keenan And Kel’ theme:

Even people who weren’t particularly fond of rap loved Coolio. RIP to an absolute legend of the game, and thoughts with his friends and family.
