The marriage of conjoined twin Abby Hensel, 34, with partner Josh Bowling has had the internet asking questions all week, which is understandable, given Abby shares a single body, and from the waist down, all of her organs, with sister Brittany.

Each of the sisters has their own heart and Abby controls the right half of the body while Brittany has control over the left. When it comes to driving a car, for example, they both handle steering while Abby handles the pedals and gearstick, and Brittany deals with the indicators and the lights.

The twins featured in TLC reality TV show Abby and Brittany years ago, and explained how they’re able to play the piano, go bowling, play volleyball and go swimming by coordinating their bodies and actions, which is pretty awesome and impressive. They even somehow managed to go to uni and study different degrees, and both now earn their living as teachers (though they only get paid a single salary, which seems a bit unfair).

Anyway, seeing as the twins have worked together all these years to figure out solutions to everyday life, I guess they’ve also worked out how to navigate a unique situation where one of them is married and everything else that comes with that.

It actually turns out that Abby married nurse Josh back in 2021, although they only announced the news recently. Since the announcement, there’s been a bit of a reveal concerning Josh: he’s currently embroiled in a paternity lawsuit involving his ex-wife.

According to the NY Post, court documents from Minnesota show that the suit was filed in October 2023 by Bowling’s ex-wife Annica, and another man called Gavin Vatnsdal was also named in the suit. The records show that a ‘genetic test report’ was filed last month, but does not disclose the result.

Was Abby aware of all this? You’d hope so. If not, you can bet it’s an argument that Josh isn’t going to win, especially with Brittany there to back her sister up. Come to think of it, I don’t think Josh is ever going to win an argument again in his life? It will literally be 2-on-1 every time! Unless they have Brittany close her eyes and put some headphones on while they hash it out?

It does make me wonder whether Josh is in love with both of them and vice-versa, but could only technically marry one of them? I can’t imagine that Brittany is simply an observer in all this, otherwise she’d be stuck in the worst third-wheel situation ever. Does she have to give consent every time her sister and her sister’s husband want to get it on? I just can’t imagine how this would work unless Josh loves both girls and treats them equally, and is essentially married to both despite what the law allows.

Well anyway, as long as they’re all happy, that’s what really matters. Here’s hoping the paternity stuff with his ex-wife is settled and then who knows? Maybe Josh and Abby and Brittany can start a little family of their own. Best of luck to the happy throuple couple!
