I’ve been watching football for so long now that I kinda think that I’ve pretty much seen it all, but then some weird defender from another country pulls something out like this and I’m proven wrong yet again.

Santa Fe were playing Jaguars over in the Colombian league at the weekend and Geisson Perea tried a somewhat orthodox method of putting his opponents off when a free kick was awarded just outside his box: he pulled his shorts down and showed his dick to them. Fortunately the referee didn’t see this incident so Perea managed to stay on the pitch, but obviously the television cameras picked it up and he’s since gone viral around the world for his brazen display.

The audacity!
Sadly, there’s no footage of the actual free kick after that – or if there is I can’t find it – but Santa Fe did end up conceding a 94th minute goal and losing the match 2-1 so I think we can safely say that his tactic didn’t work out as it clearly ended up infuriating the Jaguares players so much that they were determined to keep going and win the game. Can’t see it becoming universally employed after that result, can you, but fair play to the lad for trying it out.
