Thank Goodness For The Good Souls

Good Souls

When you hit rock bottom, the only way is up, which means you can start again from scratch. But, without the help of good people along the way, you’ll find it all pretty difficult.

Eventually, we bumped into a few people we had previously met on the road; people who weren’t useless gits like us and had jobs, plus places to stay in the city. When we told them of our predicament, they laughed at us for a while, but then took us to grab a burger and a beer. I was overwhelmed by their generosity.

They gave us a couch to crash on until we were back on our feet and through them we met others who offered us food, washing powder (our clothes and feet were unbearable at the time) and job contacts. Without them, our story may have ended a little differently.

Lesson four: we were a pair of dicks but even if you are a useless dick, there are people that will be willing to help you (just make sure you thank them and repay the favour one day).

If you’re going away any time soon, happy travels – just make sure you don’t forget your wallet. Maybe check out these travel hacks too to help you save money so you don’t end up in my situation.
