Aussie Man, 46, Sent Text Messages To Local Sex Worker After Murdering 17-Year-Old Girl In Thailand

Awful new detail in the case of Simon Carman – the 46-year-old Australian man who (allegedly) murdered a teenage girl in Pattaya, Thailand, after taking her back to his condo.

According to Thai authorities, Carman texted another woman – a local sex worker – in the hours after murdering 17-year-old Tunchanok Donhomla.

As per Australia’s 7News, the ‘casual WhatsApp messages’ included: “I’m so tired. I’m going to go for a swim today.”

At that time, his victim either laid dead in the bathroom or had already been folded in the suitcase which Carman later removed from his condo and dumped at a railway track 10 minutes away from the address.

According to local Thai media, Carman told investigators the pair had agreed on 1000 baht (£22 or $A43) for sexual services, but he later offered her 500 baht (£11 or $A22) after they arrived at his condo.

He claimed the teenager held a knife to his neck before a struggle ensued.

Thai police colonel Anek Srathongyoo said: “According to Simon’s interrogation, Simon said he had strangled her until she was motionless, then brought her body into the bathroom.

“He didn’t know what to do, so at that point he panicked, stuffed her body into the bag and kept it in the bathroom for about a day before taking it out to be disposed of.”

Thanks to Tunchanok’s friends alerting the police, Carman was arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport while attempting to board a flight to Perth.

He faces four charges, including murder, concealing a body, moving a body, and procuring a minor for sexual services.

If/when Carman is found guilty, he could face the death penalty, which probably sounds quite appealing to him at this point. Not to worry, though – he’ll spend a fair amount of time in Thai jail even if he does end up with the death penalty.
