A man involved in a high-speed police chase on the streets of Los Angeles managed to stop for a quick gas refill in the middle of it, and somehow still ended up getting away.
The suspect, who hit speeds of up to 100mph during the pursuit, was on the run after allegedly stealing a car. Eventually, he ditched the vehicle under a freeway overpass, out of sight of the police chopper, and hasn’t been seen since:

The driver fully escaped and LAPD are still looking for him, according to ABC 7. Pretty remarkable when you consider how these car chases always seem to end with the suspect crashing the car, legging it after running out of gas, or just giving up on the chase completely and accepted their fate of being arrested and going to prison.
Not this guy, though. He even had enough time to stop by at the petrol station, mask up, and get that refill before hitting the road again. Judging by how he dropped that pump on the ground, I’m guessing he didn’t pay for that refill. Unless he used Apple Pay?
Either way, must be feeling pretty good about himself at the moment, but you have to think it’s inevitable that the police will catch up to him eventually. Possibly by the time you read this, even. Enjoy your viral moment, I guess?
