A Royal Mail postman is under fire after being caught on camera kicking a puppy in the face in Leeds.
The puppy’s owner, Nikki Walker, was working from home when she heard cockapoo Bella yelp in pain at the front door. When confronted, the Royal Mail worker denied hitting the dog. Nikki told him she was going to check the camera, and he replied: “do what the f*** you want”. Charming guy!
Here’s the footage:
Well OK, that wasn’t much of a kick, but you’d still be pretty annoyed to see a postman do that to your dog. Royal Mail have since offered Nikki £100 and a home visit from a staff member to apologise, but she rejected the the latter. I mean, what good is an apology if it doesn’t come from the guy who actually kicked the dog?
At the same time, Royal Mail claim two other workers have reported Bella growling at them and insisted their ‘first priority as an employer is to ensure the welfare and safety’ of staff. Nikki says they’ve threatened to suspend deliveries to her address unless she ensures the dog is kept in the house.
In any case, the postman who did the kicking has now been removed from the round and won’t be delivering to Nikki’s address, which is probably for the best.
Obviously not everyone likes dogs (as crazy as that sounds) and postal workers have the right to do their job in peace without being viciously attacked by tiny, one-year-old cockapoo puppies. So maybe it’s best that Bella is kept indoors from now on during delivery hours.
