5) Is Our Universe The Only One?

Big Science Questions - Multiverse

We haven’t worked out whether earth life is the only life, we haven’t worked out what the universe is made up of, hell, we don’t even know why we’re even thinking in the first place. And now we’re wondering whether there are more than one universes? I know it sounds nuts, but cosmologists and quantum physicists, who aren’t known for their flights of fancy, think there may well be more universes knocking about.

Actually, scrub that, cosmologists and quantum physicists, are known for their flights of fancy. But their flights of fancy are well measured and often end up being much less fanciful than my flights of fancy.

The idea of the ‘multiverse’ as it’s called, should blow my mind. The reason why it doesn’t blow my mind is because I can’t even begin to comprehend it. I mean, I can’t even comprehend the size of our own tiny little home planet, let alone our entire universe, with other entire universes on top. It’s just beyond my beyond my beyond.

If that hasn’t quite made your brain slip into meltdown mode have a go at these annoying philosophy questions that won’t ever go away.
