We’ve written about ZdzisÅ‚aw BeksiÅ„ski before on the site as one of the 10 dark masters you have to check out, but I thought it was worth doing a post solely about him because some of his artwork is spectacularly messed up and psychopathic.

ZdzisÅ‚aw pretty much just draws completely nightmarish compositions of landscapes, weird looking humans and messed up naked people, which is a pretty good interpretation of what I would imagine hell to be like. 

BeksiÅ„ski says he got the inspiration for the pictures after listening to music, but considering death metal probably wasn’t around then (he lived from 1929 – 2005, so maybe towards the end of his life sure) I’m wondering just what the hell he was listening to?

He was stabbed to death in his native Poland by the son of his caretaker after he refused to lend him money, which is probably the kind of end he would have wanted after producing all these horrific paintings. It probably looks like this guy felt after he took black mamba – one of the most dangerous legal highs known to man.
