Cannibalism is a tricky yet fascinating subject, and it looks like it could be tackled in one of the most horrific and believable ways possible in new French horror movie ‘Raw’.

There’s been a lot of hype about ‘Raw’ ever since a bunch of people passed out/threw up during its screening at the Toronto Film Festival last year, and the trailer below goes some way to confirming this because it looks completely dark. The film tells the story of a vegetarian who heads to university to study to become a vet, only to end up being forced to eat raw meat during a hazing ritual. This awakens a deep hunger inside her, which culminates in a desire for human flesh: 

Looks pretty intense huh? I love the way that there’s no dialogue in the trailer and it’s just a bunch of scenes/images building up the tension and dread – like one of the comments says, it’s very visceral.

The film is set to come out in the UK on April 7th, and I’m sure the cinemas will be filled with puke that weekend as a result of it.
