Don’t Let Nickel Back. Possibly one of the punniest Kickstarter campaign names I’ve ever heard.

Inspired by Foo Fighters fans’ recent crowdfunding success, London resident Craig Mandell has created a Kickstarter campaign to keep the not so popular Canadian band Nickelback from returning to the city of London. 

According to the campaign notes, Mandell promised to send an email to Nickelback’s management for every donation received. $1 gets you one email to Nickelback while $5 gets you a “slightly more forceful email”. For $50 your donation “will result in an email to Nickleback with an attached mp3 of Nickelback’s music. This way, the band will hear their own music, and likely retire immediately, thereby ensuring the success of our campaign.”

Nickelback don’t have any UK dates scheduled at the moment. If Craig gets his wish it will stay that way. He said:

Just imagine, thousands — perhaps tens of thousands of music lovers — all not witnessing an exclusive concert by Nickelback in London. It will be glorious.

Poor Nickelback – the hate for them really has taken on a life of its own. So much so that a few months back police tried to arrest a dude when they overheard him talking about them. Time for them to hang up their instruments, we think.
