Everyone enjoys doing a bit of laughing gas every now and again, but part of the fun is that you know it’s only going to last about a minute maximum because of the size of the canister.

What if the canisters were 80 times the regular capacity though? Well apparently it’s bad news, as a recent increase in use of these larger canisters has led to a massive rise in hospital admissions all over the country.

The BBC have performed an investigation on this worrying trend that you can see in the video below. Professor Harry Sumnall from Liverpool John Moores University has also issued the following warning regarding the new larger canisters:

With the larger canisters, people don’t know how much gas is in there, so it could be that we see an increase in the number of these more serious cases.

Jesus, did you watch that video? I’m not surprised that girl has ended up paralysed after she was doing 600 cans of laughing gas a week. That’s truly moronic behaviour.

I think anyone with even a passing knowledge of recreational drugs would tell you that doing something to such an excess is an absolutely terrible idea. Obviously it sucks that she’s ended up like this, but you’ve really gotta think that she was a massive idiot for doing that many canisters in the first place. That’s like almost 100 a day? How would that even be fun?

Anyway, the main takeaway from this article is that if you’re going to use the massive canisters, it’s probably a good idea to not do absolutely loads to try and impress your mates as you could end up in hospital or even worse paralysed. Just fill up your regular balloon and be done with it. Don’t do 100 a day either. Easy.
