Tyson Fury is an undeniably popular boxer and part of the reason for that is because he just acts like a complete and utter joker all the time, saying and doing some of the dumbest stuff imaginable and he’s living up to his reputation in the build up to his massive fight with Deontay Wilder on December 1st.

Fury is busy promoting his fight at the moment and was doing an interview with BT Sport where he admitted that he was banned from Wikipedia because he kept editing his opponent Wladimir Klitschko’s page in the run up to their fight back in 2015. Here’s exactly what he said along with the interview:

Yes it is true, until I got banned from Wikipedia.

I did it because it is a public site and I just wanted to prove that anyone can write whatever they want on Wikipedia because it’s public. If you want to go on and edit my profile, you can.

I have not edited anything on mine but because I am the lineal champion, someone keeps going on and putting that I am retired. I am clearly not retired.

So I keep changing it back to active but every time I change it to active, someone changes it back to retired. Someone obviously wants me retired.

I mean you can’t really complain about that when you’ve been doing it yourself can you? Settle down.

Still kinda funny that someone who is a world champion boxer still has to resort to the pettiness of editing someone’s Wikipedia page to make them look bad. I guess that’s why Fury is so popular though because he really is an everyman and a man of the people. Long may it continue.

For more Tyson Fury, here he is buying everyone Jagerbombs. Hero.
