Anyone who grew up around the turn of the millennium will remember the ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ series as being God tier level games that you would spend hours and hours listening to The Suicide Machines over and over again and trying to finally nail that ultimate line.

One day though I guess everyone bought next gen consoles and Skate and the Tony Hawk’s series got left in the dust, but there was always talk of a possible remake/reboot/remaster coming out and it looks like it’s finally coming out this September. What’s more is that you can download the legendary Warehouse level if you pre-order it now.

Here’s the official trailer – featuring highlights from both Tony Hawk’s 1 and 2:

Brings back a whole heap of memories hey? Wonder if you’ll be able to manual in Tony Hawk’s 1 now and do all those moves that only came into it later on? What we do know is that the following features have been included:

  • “Fan-favourite” gameplay mechanics from across the original franchise, including revert, lip tricks, wall plant and more;
  • New features to the single-player experience providing “even more goals than before, added challenges to amp up gameplay, and more”;
  • Original and returning multiplayer game modes, both online and local couch play;
  • Create-A-Park, which promises a “robust editor enabling new ways of customization”, and players can share creations online;
  • Create-A-Skater, with deeper customization options than ever;
  • A full, throwback roster including Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Elissa Steamer, Chad Muska, Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Rune Glifberg, Kareem Campbell, Jamie Thomas and Bob Burnquist;
  • A very familiar soundtrack which, while not confirmed to contain every tune from the original two games, includes “many iconic and fan-favourite songs”;
  • Gamers who digitally pre-order Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will receive early access to the Warehouse Demo, ahead of the game’s official launch.
The internet also seems to have exploded at the news and everyone seems to be very, very excited – well at least those in the age bracket that I mentioned earlier. Just a goddamn shame we have to wait until September 4th and can’t play it now as lockdown would literally be the perfect time for it to be released. Dammit.

For more Tony Hawk’s, check out this Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater documentary that should be out sometime when we can go to the cinema again. So the 12th of Never probably.
