We brought you the news yesterday that Gordon Ramsay was selling a burger for £80 at his new restaurant, so not to be outdone Tom Kerridge has today announced that he’ll be selling a £350 three course Christmas dinner in a box.

However, to be fair to the guy his takeaway kits are able to be cooked and prepared in 90 minutes and will be able to serve four to six people, so it’s not like it’s £350 just for one person – it works out at £87.50 each for one person. That’s more expensive than Gordon’s burger but at least you get all the trimmings on this one and don’t have to pay extra for the chips hey?

Oh, I also forgot – there’s a £30 shipping fee as well, so it’s £380 total – that’s almost £100 per person then. But I suppose you don’t have to spend loads of time preparing it and cooking it yourself come Christmas at least.

Here’s the official announcement on Instagram:

Mmmmm. In case you’re still not sure of what the box includes, for your £380 you’ll get a three course meal that includes: Cumberland sausage rolls with Kerridge brown sauce, truffle cheese Gougère, and potted Loch Duart salmon tart with pickled cucumber chutney; your choice of main alongside carrots, roast potatoes, honey glazed parsnips, cauliflower cheese, sprouts with chestnuts, lardons and sage brown butter, pigs in blankets and roast turkey, beef or venison sauce – as well as an optional bread sauce for those opting for the turkey and to finish; Christmas pudding with brandy butter and caramelised white chocolate pebble petit fours and some mince pies.

That all does sound and look delicious, but I think you’ve gotta be on another planet if you’re going to pay almost £400 for the privilege. Some people actually do live on said planet though so I’m sure that these will absolutely fly off the shelves in the run up to the big day. That’s 2020 for you.

For more of the same, check out Tom Kerridge’s £32.50 fish and chips. The best around apparently.
