Like him or not, Jake Paul does a very good job of creating hype around his fights, which is mainly down to the fact that everyone wants to see him get KO’d into oblivion, but still.
Credit to the 24-year-old YouTuber, that hasn’t happened yet in his 3-0-0 boxing career, but he faces his toughest challenge to date when he takes on 39-year-old former UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on August 29. Here’s the official trailer which dropped earlier:
A lot of people have Woodley down as the favourite, but I’m not so sure. Yeah OK he has literally decades more fighting experience than Jake Paul, but he’s technically not a boxer, despite having some big time power in his hands. Jake Paul on the other hand is a young guy full of beans who has trained solely as a boxer. Either way, Woodley is the highest calibre opponent Paul will have faced yet, and we may actually have to start taking him seriously if he gets the job done.
Here’s what happened at their face off a couple months back:
And Joe Rogan’s thoughts on the mega-fight over some footage of Paul & Woodley training/knocking people out:
One thing’s for sure – Jake Paul will become even more insufferable if he managed to get past Woodley, let alone KO him. Come on Woodley, don’t let us down.
Who would Jake Paul realistically take on next? I know what I’ll be hoping for.
