The man, identified as 25-year-old Gregoire Moutaux, was arrested on the Ukrainian border with Poland.
Intelligence chiefs say he was planning 15 attacks all driven by ultra-nationalist views.
He’d collected guns including 5 Kalashnikovs, two anti-tank grenade launchers, 5,000 rounds of ammunition, 100 detonators and 125kg of TNT – some serious firepower. His targets included bridges, motorways, a mosque and a synagogue.
Little did he know police were on top of it the whole time, culminating in hours of footage of him planning the attack and his subsequent arrest.
Great stuff. The guy spends all that time planning his terrorist attack and it was literally the biggest waste of his life ever. Probably so chuffed with himself thinking he’d come this far without being noticed by counter-terrorism, and then one day they just show up out of nowhere, drag him out of his van and slam him onto the street before showing him footage of himself planning the attacks all along. Just beautiful.
