A shot fired by a British Army sniper in Afghanistan last December resulted in the death of not only the suspected Taliban fighter in his sights, but also five Taliban fighters around the target after the bullet ended up hitting the explosives in the target’s vest.

The unnamed sniper’s commanding officer said: “The sniper engaged him and the guy exploded. There was a pause on the radio and the sniper said, ‘I think I’ve just shot a suicide bomber.’ The rest of them were killed in the blast.”

Apparently the sniper fired from about 930 yards away – awesome precision. The same sniper also once killed a Taliban machine-gunner with a shot fired from 1,465 yards — 300 yards short of a mile.

Imagine how hyped this guy was after nailing this shot. Thinking he’s going to pull the trigger and take out one guy and he ends up blowing the dude up and taking out five extra enemies. I’m no advocate of war but even I have to admit that is as badass as it gets. And to do it from half a mile away? Most of us can’t even lob a tissue into the bin and this sniper’s merking fools from the other side of town.
