One way of dealing with coronavirus that hasn’t really been tried yet is outright pretending like it doesn’t exist by banning any use of the word and arresting people for wearing face masks or talking about the global pandemic.

According to Newsweek, Turkmenistan’s state-controlled media are not allowed to say or publish the word, and information about Covid-19 has also been removed from health brochures distributed in workplaces, hospitals and schools around the country.

So is this tactic working? Well put it this way – Turkmemistan is just north of Iran, which is one of the countries most badly hit by coronavirus (47,000+ cases and 3,000+ dead). Yet somehow… there are ZERO cases in Turkmenistan. Big up President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow for that one – unreal leadership skills from the guy who’s such a bastard that even Vladimir Putin has to step in when he watches how the man handles puppies:

Now that’s what you call a real dictator – someone who will literally jail you for trying to protect yourself from a very real and present disease. You go out in Turkmenistan with a face mask – you’re finished. You even suggest there’s something to worry about – you get thrown into prison. All because this dickhead wants to sweep the problem under the carpet and pretend it doesn’t exist. Just ignore it and it will go away. If only that tactic worked with financial, relationship and drug problems as well?

So yeah, next time you think we’ve got it bad with Boris or whoever, think about literally every single person born in Turkmenistan.
