Pop Star Chappell Roan Banned From Performing In Brazil After ‘Rude Encounter’ With Jorginho’s Daughter
Who had a Jorginho/Chappell Roan beef on their 2026 bingo card? The American pop star has caused major drama over in Brazil after one of her security team disrespected the stepdaughter of Brazilian football legend Jorginho Frello, and she has now been banned from performing at the Todo Mundo no Rio festival.
Jorginho posted a lengthy Instagram statement at the weekend calling out Chappell Roan’s security team following an incident at a luxury hotel in São Paulo, just before her Lollapalooza Brasil show. His stepdaughter, Ada Law (Jude Law’s daughter with his ex Catherine Harding, who is now married to Jorginho), is 11 years old and apparently a big Chappell Roan fan.
During breakfast at the hotel, Jorginho’s daughter walked past Roan’s table, smiled when she recognised her, and went straight back to her family. She didn’t ask for a photo or say anything at all. Then one of Roan’s security guards approached their table and became very aggressive with both the mum and the little girl, accusing the child of “harassment” and “disrespect.”
As you can tell by his statement on IG, Jorgihno is VEXED, and understandably so. The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Cavaliere, has now taken to X to announce that Chappell Roan is banned from performing at Todo Mundo no Rio…
Wow, Chappell Roan really managed to p1ss off the whole of Brazil. The craziest part is that she didn’t even necessarily do anything wrong?
The singer has since addressed the situation on IG and claims that the guy wasn’t even her personal security, and that she was completely oblivious to the whole situation…
Roan says: “I’m just gonna tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard…who was not my personal security.
“I didn’t even see – I didn’t even see a woman and a child. Like I did not. No one came up to me, no one bothered me like, I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel.

“I think these people were staying at the hotel as well. The fact that a security guard who was…I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. They did not come up to me! They weren’t doing anything! It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe because there’s no action even taken,” she went on to say.
“I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children. Like, that is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something, that you would do something, and that if you felt uncomfortable. That makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.”
Well, I guess we’re going to have to take her word for it. Maybe it was a big misunderstanding after all. Unfortunately for Chappell Roan, it seems the damage has been done and she will no longer be performing at Todo Mundo no Rio. You p1ss off one Brazilian, you p1ss them all off, apparently.
