I think that pretty much everyone out there has always thought of Pairs Hilton as a grade A idiot, but it turns out that she’s been duping us all along – she’s just very good at playing a dumb blonde. At least according to a new interview.

Paris was sitting down with Today to promote her new partnership with UberEats when she disclosed the information, saying the following:

I’m happy that now people know that I’m not a dumb blonde, I’m just very good at pretending to be one.

I feel I’ve been through so much in life, and playing that character I think was just a trauma response because it was such a painful and traumatic experience to think about.

Paris is talking about the abuse that she served at the hands of the Provo Canyon School, a psychiatric youth treatment facility that was placed in during her teenage years. She claims in her 2020 documentary ‘This Is Paris’ that she was regularly placed in solitary confinement and forced to take medication without diagnosis during her time there. She created the ‘dumb Barbie girl’ character from ‘The Simple Life’ as a reaction to the trauma she experienced there and that’s why she’s been perceived as being really stupid ever since then.

Glad she’s setting the record straight now, but I’m sure that there are some people out there who probably aren’t going to believe her because there always are aren’t there? It’s a tough life out there.
