There were a lot of iconic shows for everyone growing up in the 90s, but ‘Power Rangers’ – with its stupid theme music and weird robot fights – was definitely one of the main ones that everyone remembers.

I haven’t been following the franchise too much over the years – although I do remember Bryan Cranston playing Zordon in a recent reboot?  – but fans who can remember anything about the original actors are in for a treat with the upcoming release of ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’ on April 19th via Netflix. The film is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the original series and features original cast members Billy (David Yost) and Zack (Walter Emanuel Jones) – the Blue and Black Rangers respectively – and Rocky (Steve Cardenas) and Kat (Catherine Sutherland), the Red and Pink Rangers from the second iteration of the team.

Can’t say I really remember any of those people too clearly – the only Power Ranger I remember is Tommy the Green/White Ranger who sadly killed himself last year –  but you can still take a look at the nostalgia heavy trailer below:

Thirty years after the wise and powerful Zordon formed the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the team comes face to face with a familiar threat from the past.

In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs.

This 30th Anniversary Special is inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise “Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,” meaning once you become part of the Ranger family, you are always welcome back.

Lol that really doesn’t look very good at all and very low budget as well, but maybe that’s sort of adding to its charm? It seems really silly seeing these people who are really old pretending to be Power Rangers because the dialogue and sets are just so stupid and dated that you just can’t imagine anyone taking it seriously now. And who the hell is Rita Repulsa anyway?

Will probably still tune in though when I’m hungover one day though. It’s morphin’ time.

For more of the same, check out when the guy who played the Red Power Ranger murdered his brother. That was a weird one.
