It seems that OJ Simpson may have had a few things to get off his chest in the days leading up to his death earlier this week, with reports now stating that his children were made to sign non-disclose agreements (NDAs) when they visited him in hospital.

According to TMZ, NDAs were required of his entire family, including two children, Sydney, 38, and Justin, 35, he had with Nicole Brown Simpson; the ex-wife he almost certainly murdered.

Now, it’s not clear what the NDA covered, but it could have been about his condition, which is why OJ’s death from prostate cancer came as such a surprise to everyone this week. Maybe he didn’t want anyone speaking to the press until he officially kicked the bucket?

I’m not sure why he’d care that much, but it is possible. Or maybe he wanted to come clean to kids about what really happened on that fateful day in June 1994 – as if they haven’t figured it out for themselves already.

There is a question over whether NDAs expire at death, which would render the whole idea meaningless. However, that is not the case, unless the NDA has a “termination clause” written into it. Which means OJ’s estate would have cause of action for any breach of the NDA, even after his death. In other words, whatever was talked about on OJ’s death bed, his kids better keep their traps shut about it.

In any case, it seems like OJ was bringing the juice right up until the day he died. Although he may as well have just announced it to the world at that point, even if it did mean tarnishing his already terrible legacy. It’s not like anyone still believes he was innocent, do they?
