New Rap Beef Between Eminem And 62-Year-Old Melle Mel Results In Slim Shady Destroying Him In New Diss Track

I thought the world had had move passed the ‘Eminem is only considered one of the best rappers of all time because he’s white’ argument, but Melle Mel brought it up again during an interview with Complex in March.

The 62-year-old Furious Five legend said at the time:

“So now, if Eminem was another n***a like all the rest of us, would he be Top 5 on that list when a n***a that could rhyme just as good as him is 35? That had records and all that? He’s 35. He’s white.”

I’m not sure why Melle Mel would want to get involved in a beef with Eminem when he’s old enough to be relaxing on a beach somewhere and lapping up compliments about what he did for rap in the 80s, but his words turned up on Eminem’s rader and so Marshall Mathers had to respond by demolishing him in a rap.

Em featured on a track with Shady Records signee Ez Mil, and dedicated his verse to merking Melle Mel:

“Hip Hop has been good to me, huh/But when they say that I’m only Top 5 ’cause I’m white, why would I be stunned?” Eminem raps. “My skin color’s still working against me/‘Cause second, I should be, to none/Bein’ white being why they put me at five/That’s why they can’t put me at one.”

Later, Em calls out Melle Mel by name while referencing his alleged steroid use.

“Shoutout to Furious Five and Grandmaster Flash, but boy/There’s someone who really is furious/Stay out his path, his wrath avoid/ It’ll be the last to toy with a juice head whose brain is half destroyed, like a meteor hit it/Now with Melle Mel, he lost his ass to ‘roids.”

For some dumb reason, Melle Mel decided to respond with a diss track of his own (ignoring the advice of his friends and family, surely), and it’s one of the worst things my ears have ever heard:

“The Top 5 is cap/ You the piss that’s on the floor in the elevator of rap/ Why you ducking on The Game when you shit on my name?/ Why they put Pee-Wee Herman in the hall of fame?”

He even named his diss track ‘Melle Mel’s Response To Eminem’s Diss’. How uninspired is that? Anyway, I don’t think anyone really wants this beef to continue so hopefully these two can just go back to ignoring each other from now on. Eminem is easily one of the top 5 rappers ever and is in with a shout for top 3 too. Doesn’t need to prove anything more to anyone, especially Melle Mel.
