Most of the time when I see some kind of crazy food crossover, I stop to ask myself whether it’s really necessary and whether or not I’d actually even like it.

But not this time, because I’m absolutely convinced that Morrison’s Yorkshire Pudding Pizza is one of the best ideas ever. In case you couldn’t tell from the photographs or the name, it’s exactly what it says it is – a pizza that uses a Yorkshire Pudding as a base. It’s being released to celebrate Yorkshire Pudding Day – which is apparently February 3rd – and will come in two flavours: ‘Classic Pepperoni’ and ‘Meat Feast’, which features mini meatballs, pepperoni, spicy beef and jalapeño chillies.

Both pizzas are just £3 and will be available from February 1st – 20th. Jenny Dixon – who holds the dubious title of Yorkshire Pudding Expert at the supermarket – had the following to say about the new food item:

Morrisons Yorkshire Pie Pizza

Everyone loves Yorkshire pudding and everyone loves pizza, so we are combining the two to create the ultimate comfort food for Yorkshire Pudding Day.

The crust is made the same way as a typical Yorkshire pudding and is topped the same way as one of our pizzas. We’re looking forward to hearing what customers think but we hope that they’ll love it!

I’m not gonna lie it does sound like the perfect combination and I really do want to try it before the offer is up. Just gotta figure out where my nearest Morrisons is now.
