I’m not really that surprised about how much the citizens of this country have been affected by the death of the Queen yesterday, but I am kind of freaked out by how much of a big deal it seems to be in other countries all over the world. Maybe I’m being naive but I didn’t realise she was so important to countries like Brazil?

Anyway, her death has been honoured at some of the most recognisable monuments all over the world, with her image being broadcast onto the face of the Sydney Opera House, the Union Jack being projected onto Christ The Redeemer in Rio Di Janeiro and the Empire State Building in New York putting up a purple and silver light.

Meanwhile, over in Spain some cyclists who were competing at the Vuelta a Espana held up a Union Jack.  Could have made a bit more of an effort there lads?

Anyway, here’s a few pictures of them:

Well that’s nice isn’t it I suppose, even if I can’t really understand how the Queen is so popular all over the world. I’m glad that she was such an inspirational figure to so many people out there, even if that’s kind of a misguided opinion.

RIP – we’ll leave the lights on at Sick Chirpse HQ out of respect for her tonight.

For more of the same, check out Jedward getting absolutely slammed for some insensitive tweets about the Queen’s death. Morons.
