For the first time in 20 years, the winner of Miss Universe has blonde hair and blue eyes and according to some folks online; this signals the end of wokeness as we know it.
Yes indeed, Miss Denmark won Miss Universe 2024 for the first time last weekend, with the lovely Victoria Kjær Theilvig, 21, beating out the competition. Funnily enough, Theilvig actually finished second in Miss Denmark; the winner, Emma Heyst, withdrew from Miss Universe “due to inadequate preparation”, so Theilvig was a replacement entrant. Talk about catching a lucky break!
Well anyway, after several years of Miss Universe making headlines for allowing transgender (hello Miss Netherlands) and ‘body inclusive’ contestants, social media users are now celebrating the fact that the 2024 winner is a blonde and blue-eyed Nordic beauty, hailing it as a ‘return to sanity’ and even linking the win with the MAGA movement and Trump winning back the Presidency.
Here’s some of the reaction on Twitter/X:
Wow. An actual European, blonde, blue eyed woman won Miss Universe.
That’s legal again? The tides are truly turning. https://t.co/GWTiC6rVfi

Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark has been crowned Miss Universe 2024. She’s a woman. She doesn’t have a p*nis.

Miss Denmark is the new Miss Universe. Probably the first blonde, blue eyed white girl to win in ages. And she doesn’t have a dong. It’s the Trump Effect. pic.twitter.com/xOGGQKy4DU

Now, there is some debate as to whether Victoria Kjær Theilvig is a real blonde or bottle blonde (she does seem to have darker roots on closer inspection), but that’s neither here nor there.
Many are even claiming that what secured the crown for Theilvig was the Q&A section where she was asked what she wanted to tell women who were watching the pageant:
“My message to all the world that is watching out there is no matter where you come from, no matter your past, you can always choose to turn it into your strengths. It will never define who you are. Just got to keep fighting. I stand here today because I want to change. I want to make history. And that’s what I’m doing tonight. So never give up, always believe in yourself and your dreams, and that is exactly what you are going to do.”
I mean, that’s the most ‘Miss Universe’ answer ever, isn’t it?
There is also some debate over whether Miss Nigeria should have won the competition, but we’re not judges and didn’t even watch it and are not even sure how it all works, so we’re going to sit this one out. Big ups to all the women involved, and we’ll leave you with the Top 5 below consisting of Venezuela, Thailand, Denmark, Mexico, and Nigeria. Well done ladies!
