Meat Eaters Are Being Banned From All Vegan Airbnbs

Equal opportunities.

For the most part, the majority of vegans might looks down slightly on their meat eating brothers and sisters but there are always a few that have to make a massive point about it and further the animosity even further and the people in this post are a classic example of this.

Emma is the owner of an Airbnb called The Studio in Cherry Hill, Gloucestershire and she’s decided that she only wants vegans and vegetarians staying in her rooms. She refuses to let meat eaters stay there as she doesn’t want any of the chemicals located in non vegan products being present in her environment- here’s what the listing says:

We use ecological cleaning products and provide ecological vegan liquid soap and shampoo, which is important, especially as we have a private drainage system which works with gravel, rushes and willow to filter… the water, which then goes into the pond. Chemicals disturb the natural balance.

She’s not the only one either, with an Airbnb listing from Manchester based Kirsty saying the following:

An artist-owned green oasis with good connections just fifteen minutes from the city centre.

A warm, quiet and comfortable flat with a balcony, that looks out onto trees and blends quirky old furniture with a minimalist design ethic. Kitchen is vegetarian/vegan.

Not sure what to make of all that. I suppose it’s good for the vegan community to know that no animal products have been present where they’re staying as that fits in with their entire ethos and it’s a growing niche market, but at the same time I can’t help but think it’s probably going to provoke a huge backlash from meat eaters who are going to feel discriminated against by the listing. Surprised it hasn’t already to be honest.

I’m not really sure there’s even a solution at this point in time because the hatred between vegans and non vegans really is that intense in some cases. Can only see this contributing to the problem right now, but I guess it’s also going to benefit the vegan community too. Six of one and half a dozen of the other I guess.

For more of the same, check out how messed up that weird protester against veganism Sv3rige actually is. You really wouldn’t guess.
