If you, like me, were a massive fan then we’ve got some good news for you – writer and star Mark Gatiss has confirmed that the show will be returning to television for an “anniversary special”. Tubbs, Herr Lipp, Papa Lazarou and co will be returning once more.

The dark comedy, which was first shown on the BBC between 1999 and 2002, has long been rumoured to make a return, but now we have official confirmation. Mark sent out the message on Twitter as a reply to film director Duncan Jones, who is a fan of the show.

The only bum-out aspect of this is that the return is set for the show’s 20th anniversary, so we’re going to have to wait two whole years until we see Lazarou at the door again. While you’re waiting, here are some classic moments from Royston Vasey’s finest:

For more classic British comedy, here are some best bits from the short but impactful comedy of ‘Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace’.
