It was San Diego Comic Con over the weekend and as such a hell of a lot of announcements in the world of television, movies and comic books were made and the world lapped them all up.

The Kong: Skull Island trailer was one of these announcement and it looks way better than you think it would. An impressive cast including Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman and Tom Hiddleston head to King Kong’s home on Skull Island and get involved in what looks like an absolutely terrifying life or death battle against him and the island’s other inhabitants, including a giant spider:
Wow. There’s a lot of dread in that trailer, and I love the way that they don’t even show much of King Kong in it to make the whole mystique around him even more scary. It looks like there’s going to be an absolutely epic battle between a whole army and King Kong too – you know that’s going to be pretty tasty. The whole thing has been described as a ‘Vietnam War Movie’ by its producers too which only has me more excited for a hyper realistic take on the King Kong mythos.
The only bummer is that we have to wait until February 2017 to catch this, but at least we have some other stuff announced at Comic Con to check out in the run up to that, like the surprise Blair Witch sequel that is getting released in September.
