Yesterday we had Boris Johnson’s father forgetting to wear a mask when he went to the newsagents and today we have former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn blatantly breaking the rule of six to attend a dinner party with seven other people.

The picture you can see above found its way into the media yesterday and Corbyn was forced to apologise, saying the following to The Sun:

I recently had dinner at a friend’s house where the number of guests eventually exceeded five.

I understand that remaining at the dinner was a breach of the rule of six. I apologise for my mistake.

Lol that’s such a weak ass apology, especially with throwing in the ‘eventually’. How long did the dinner last, like six hours or something? Did some of the people only show up for dessert? Very stupid, but I suppose at least he owned it and apologised.

Corbyn and his buddies faced a £200 fine each for breaching the rule of six, but police have today announced that they won’t be fining people retrosactively and will only be issuing on the spot fines as apparently this gives people a chance to learn from their mistakes. Stanley Johnson won’t be receiving a fine either.

I’m sure this won’t just encourage people to do exactly the same as them, will it? I doubt they’ll be smart enough to just argue they didn’t know the rules and will learn from their mistakes if they even get caught in the first place? Seems like another sensible strategy from the government in the fight against Coronavirus. Bravo.

For more of the same, check out the mayor of Middlesborough refusing to accept the government lockdown on his city. Oh dear.
