Jake Paul’s Boxing Career ‘Over’ After Being Surgically Fitted With Titanium Plates For Broken Jaw

Jake Paul’s boxing career is ‘effectively over’ after he suffered a double broken jaw in his fight versus Anthony Joshua last Friday – which resulted in him having two titanium plates fitted on each side of his jaw.

‘The Problem Child’, 28, also had several teeth removed following the double fracture sustained in his knockout loss to the British former heavyweight champion, and remains on a liquid diet for 7 days.

Doctors expect a full recovery in due time, but the injury has raised serious doubts about the viability of his professional boxing career, as boxing commissions will be very cautious about clearing him to fight when he’s got titanium plates in his face.

Just imagine what another ferocious punch might do to the plates and/or the screws keeping them in place? It could result in a far more horrific injury for the lad.

Furthermore there are no confirmed, credible cases of professional boxers returning to the ring after having two plates inserted into their jaw.

So it’s a good thing for Jake Paul that he banked $92M off the back of this fight (if you can call it a ‘fight’), because it could be that he never boxes professionally again.

Then again, who knows? Titanium plates are usually designed to stay in the jaw permanently, but if Jake Paul is crazy enough, he could have them removed and continue to try his luck in the ring. Whether any boxing commissions would clear him is another story.

At this point though, he’d probably be better off joining his brother in WWE? The guy clearly has a tolerance for pain, so he might actually be quite good at it. Get on it, Triple H! You could have the most hated tag team in WWE history on your hands.
